Lash Extensions

How long does it take to complete a lash extension fill?

The initial fill will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the type of lash extensions you are looking to get. It is possible to do a complete set within 1 to 1.5 hours especially for a classic set; however, each individual has a unique set of natural lashes. It may take longer to complete a full set for those who have more natural lashes. Refills take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Why do I need to cleanse my lashes routinely?

Cleansing your lashes will allow them to stay healthy and stay on longer. Any debris or germs that build up on your lashes can cause irritation to your eyes. Cleanse your lashes even after sweating, working out, or having a good cry.

Can I use makeup while wearing lash extensions?

If you would like to wear makeup, avoid waterproof or oil-based makeup. It is best to use water-based makeup. Waterproof makeup produces a film over the lashes that makes it more difficult for the lash extensions to stick on your natural lashes. Oil-based makeup makes the bond between the glue and lash extension weaker. Make sure not to wear mascara or eyeliner for at least 48 hours prior to your refill so that you can ensure better lash retention.

What can I use to wipe off my makeup or cleanse my face?

You can use any water-based makeup remover or cleanser for your face. Also, make sure to use a lash bath or cleanser to cleanse your upper eyelids down to your lashes using a sweeping motion. If you put on concealer, use the lash cleanser to wash this area as well.

Microblading

What is microblading?
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent cosmetics in which a hand held tool is used to insert pigment into the upper layers of the skin. Delicate, realistic hair strokes are created to change the fullness and shape of the brows.

Can anyone have semi-permanent makeup?

Microblading is a form of tattooing and there are some medical conditions and medications that prevent clients from undergoing this procedure. A doctor’s note can be accepted for special cases.

Microblading cannot be performed if you are: pregnant or breastfeeding, taking immunosuppression medication and have been diagnosed with an immune disorder, have untreated heart issues, have taken antibiotics in the past 20 days, have the tendency to keloid, had peels/laser/microneedling within the past 4 weeks, have taken Accutane in the past year, had laser resurfacing in the past year, had botox injections on the forehead within 3 weeks, at high risk of infection and must take antibiotics during dental work, diagnosed with trichotillomania (“hair pulling” disorder), or had previous microblading or tattooing that is still solid or scarred.

Does microblading hurt?

Every person’s pain tolerance is different and it may be more irritating or uncomfortable to some. However, a topical numbing solution is used prior to and throughout the procedure, which will decrease any pain and discomfort.

How long do results last?

Results typically last 1-3 years depending on your skin type and aftercare compliance. A touch up appointment will help retain the fullness and shape of your brows and is needed 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment.

How long does it take to heal?

The healing process takes 4-6 weeks and at least 8 weeks for older adults.

How can I prepare for my appointment?

If you take a blood thinner, please speak with your doctor to see if it is safe to hold these medications for 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. In addition, Retin-A and fish oil must be stopped at least 10 days prior to the service. Avoid caffeine during the day of the appointment as this may decrease your pain tolerance level.

What do I need to avoid during the healing process?

  • Picking, scratching, or manually peeling

  • Scrubbing or rubbing when drying or applying ointment on your brow area

  • Exercising 10-14 days following the procedure

  • Applying makeup or products on the brows

  • Sleeping on your face

  • Direct sun exposure

  • Facial massages, facial steaming and/or saunas

Why do I need to do a touch up appointment?

Fading is normal and expected after the first appointment. Microblading is a two step process. A touch up appointment within 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment is required to achieve the full, desired result.
